Tailor’s Son Bags Rs 1.06 Cr Package AI Engineer Job In Canada


Kakinada: Defying all odds, Akhilesh Malthi, the son of a tailor from Kakinada district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, secured a job as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineer in a Canada-based firm with an annual package of Rs 1.06 crore.

A student from an economically poor family, Akhilesh, a native of Kutukudumilli village in Kothapalli mandal of Pithapuram constituency, was selected in a recent campus placement drive and bagged the job offer. Akhilesh, who recently joined the role, while speaking to a vernacular channel, said that it is a full-time work-from-home position.

Akhilesh’s father, Gangadhar Rao, is hearing and speech impaired and works as a tailor, while Akhilesh’s mother assists her husband by doing handwork on the clothes he stitches. With the modest income from tailoring, he supported and educated his two children. 

Akhilesh completed schooling till Class 10 at VVS School in Kothapalli. He completed his Intermediate in the MPC stream at Narayana Junior College, and later completed his B.Tech in Data Science at Aditya University located at Surampalem in Kakinada.

Despite financial challenges at home, Akhilesh stayed focused on studies and learning new technologies, which have now paid off and led to a global job opportunity. His achievement is being celebrated across the village as an inspiration for students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds.

Another student, G Rajesh who completed B.Tech in AI & ML, also secured a Rs 1 crore annual pay package. Both of them were placed at FabranticAI, an AI-focused firm powered by Agisol.
