Patna, Dec. 5 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday reiterated that the state government has set an ambitious target of providing jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youths over the next five years.
In a post on social media platform X, Kumar said that Bihar will soon create three new departments (Department of Youth, Employment and Skill Development, Higher Education Department and Civil Aviation Department).
He said these departments are being established to accelerate job creation and expand opportunities for youth through entrepreneurship, training and industry-oriented education.

The Chief Minister emphasised that in order to meet the employment target, it is essential to provide large-scale skill development training to youth and ensure access to high-quality higher and technical education.
He added that continuous monitoring of progress will also be carried out to achieve the set goals.
Kumar stated that the new Youth, Employment Skill Development Department will help connect a large number of youths with various schemes promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment over the next five years.
Regarding the Higher Education Department, he said its primary objectives will be to improve the quality of higher education, promote research and innovation, expand technical and vocational education, and ensure employment-oriented education for students from all sections of society.
On the establishment of the Civil Aviation Department, the Chief Minister said that several new airports are under construction in Bihar, and more are planned under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
The new department will speed up aviation-related development, boost the industrial environment, create fresh employment opportunities, and support export of local products.

He said that in addition to this, the NDA government has decided to create a separate MSME Directorate and a Bihar Marketing Promotion Corporation to strengthen efforts toward employment generation. The MSME Directorate will establish Mega Skill Centres in every district, enabling skill-based training and greater job opportunities for the youth.

The Marketing Promotion Corporation, Kumar said, will help improve the availability, quality and distribution of products from agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, food processing, handicrafts, rural industries, and cottage industries, thereby creating substantial employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the NDA government is fully committed to securing the future of Bihar’s youth.
He said the government aims to make the youth skilled, self-reliant and equipped with new opportunities, ensuring a safe and better future.
