Gauhati University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the govt job of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India funded research project entitled “Management of Petroleum Refinery Oily Sludge Employing Earthworm-Bacteria Synergy Assisted with Electroflotation-Based Dewatering Pretreatment (DBT Sanction No-BT/PR53865/NER/95/2199/2024 dated 28/11/2025).”

Essential Qualification: M. Sc. in Botany/Biotechnology/Microbiology with NET/GATE

Desirable Qualification: Experiences in the related field of the project including isolation of
environmental DNA, conventional PCR amplification of microbial marker genes, proficiency in
microbial data analysis tools and knowledge of functional gene analysis.

Fellowship: Rs. 37000/- per month plus HRA as applicable

Selection Procedure :

Candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on January 5, 2026 (Monday) in the Department of Botany, Gauhati University, Assam from 10 A.M. onwards.
