Educational Qualification
All Posts: Pass in SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)
ITI (National Trade Certificate) in relevant trade
All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in relevant trade
The minimum qualification must be from a University/Institute/Examination Board recognized by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority/State/Central Government
Candidates with equivalent qualifications should submit Equivalency Certificate issued by Competent Authority

Experience Requirements
For All Posts: Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in relevant areas
Experience must be acquired after passing the stipulated qualification
Experience period will be reckoned as on 23 January 2026
Experience in Shipyard, Engineering Company, Government Company/Establishment, or Semi-Government Company/Establishment is required
Completed Apprenticeship Training under Apprentices Act 1961 in relevant trade shall be treated as experience
Training with remuneration shall also be treated as experience
Experience certificates from Companies registered under Companies Act 1956 or Foreign Companies of equivalent status only will be considered
For current employees, Appointment/Offer letter, latest Pay Slip, or copy of last pay drawn should be submitted as proof
For past employment, experience certificate indicating date of joining and relieving should be submitted
Work experience from contractors (Proprietary/Partnership Firms) may be considered based on Principal Employer’s endorsement along with ESI/EPF statements
House Rent Allowance (HRA): ₹4,500 (at present 20%)
Other Allowances: ₹3,140
Total Monthly Emoluments (as on date): ₹41,795
Additional Benefits: National Pension System (NPS), Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, Accident Insurance coverage, Medical Assistance Scheme, Post-Retirement Medical Assistance Scheme, Earned Leave encashment, Working Dress Maintenance Allowance etc. as admissible

Age Relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation for posts reserved for them

Phase I – Objective Type Online Test: 30 marks (35 minutes duration)
Part A: General Knowledge – 5 questions (5 marks)
Part A: Quantitative Aptitude – 5 questions (5 marks)
Part B: Trade Related – 20 questions (20 marks)
Each question carries one mark
No negative marking
Phase II – Practical Test: 70 marks in relevant trade
Total Marks: 100 marks (Phase I + Phase II)
Mark lists for each post shall be prepared based on marks secured in Objective type online test
Candidates scoring minimum pass marks will be shortlisted for certificate verification
CSL shall call sufficient number of candidates for certificate verification to get minimum ratio of 6 candidates against one post in order of merit/reservation
Candidates successfully completing certificate verification shall be shortlisted for Phase II Practical Test at CSL, Kochi
Minimum Pass Marks:
Unreserved posts & EWS candidates: 50% of total marks in each test
OBC Candidates: 45% of total marks in each test (for reserved vacancies)
SC/ST Candidates: 40% of total marks in each test (for reserved vacancies)
Final rank lists shall be prepared based on aggregate marks secured in both Phase I and Phase II by candidates meeting eligibility requirements
In case of tie, marks scored in trade part of Objective test shall determine rank; if still tied, seniority in age will be considered
Online test shall be held at various test centres in Kerala as decided by CSL
CSL reserves right to scrutinize applications and prepare shortlist based on eligibility requirements before selection process
General Information/Instructions
Only Indian nationals need to apply
CSL is a listed premier Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ Company of Government of India
CSL is engaged in hazardous operations; hence PwBD candidates shall not apply for these posts as deployment may put them and others at serious risk
Posting shall be at CSL/any other CSL units/project sites as desired by CSL
Candidates are liable to be transferred within different units of CSL depending on project requirements
Appointment carries obligation to serve in any department of CSL, on-board ships, or in any units/work sites/projects in India or abroad
Government of India directives on reservation shall apply
EWS candidates should produce valid Income and Asset Certificate issued by competent authority in prescribed format
SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates should produce valid recent community certificate issued by Revenue Authority not below rank of Tahsildar
Applicants should not submit more than one application for the same post
Online exams for various posts will be conducted simultaneously; hence applicants shall apply only for one post
Application once submitted shall be final; changes after submission will not be considered
Incomplete applications shall not be considered
Applicants should retain soft copy/printout of online application with unique registration number for reference
No need to send application printout/certificates/application fee by post to CSL
To avoid heavy traffic on last date, candidates are advised to submit applications well in advance

Applicants in regular Government service should submit applications directly to CSL and upload declaration that they have informed their employer
No Objection Certificate from employer must be produced before final selection

Employees currently working in CSL or any units of CSL on regular rolls are not eligible to apply for same posts at same pay scales
Original certificates shall be verified at time of joining or at any stage as decided by CSL
Candidature is purely provisional subject to verification of original certificates
If any information furnished is false/incorrect or there has been suppression of facts, candidature/appointment will be cancelled without notice
No travelling allowance for Online tests; however SC/ST candidates appearing for Practical Test shall be reimbursed single to & fro sleeper class rail fare as admissible
