Odisha clears Rs 4,100 cr investment proposals, nearly 10,000 jobs to be created


The Government of Odisha has approved industrial investment proposals worth over Rs 4,100 crore, paving the way for the creation of nearly 10,000 jobs across the state. The approvals were granted during the 144th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, on Tuesday.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, the SLSWCA cleared 23 industrial projects involving a total investment of  Rs 4,111.80 crore, which are expected to generate 9,924 employment opportunities. The move marks another significant step in strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and promoting job-led economic growth.

The approved projects span a wide range of sectors, including mechanical and electrical capital goods, apparel and textiles, aerospace and defence manufacturing, shipbuilding and ship repair, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, aluminium downstream industries, mineral beneficiation, metal downstream, plastics, glass manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, infrastructure, and tourism and hospitality. This diverse portfolio reflects the state’s strategy to build a resilient and future-ready industrial base.

The projects will be implemented across 11 districts-Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargarh-ensuring balanced regional development and wider employment generation.

Among the key approvals, Nipha Limited will set up a railway component manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 384 crore, creating 310 jobs. Inventgrid India Private Limited will establish an advanced multi-drone manufacturing centre in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 300 crore, generating 1,000 jobs and boosting Odisha’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.

In the maritime sector, Northern Express Infradevelopers Private Limited will develop a shipbuilding and ship-repair facility in Bhadrak with an investment of Rs 339.40 crore, creating 507 jobs. In the textiles sector, J.G. Hosiery Private Limited will set up a large apparel manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 100 crore, expected to generate 2,350 jobs.

Several projects were also approved in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, aluminium downstream, plastics, glass manufacturing, mineral beneficiation, logistics and warehousing. Notably, major mineral-based projects in Sundargarh and Deogarh districts are expected to significantly strengthen Odisha’s metal and mineral value chains.

The tourism and hospitality sector will see the development of multiple premium hotels, including five-star and four-star properties in Khordha, Puri and Sambalpur, further enhancing the state’s high-end tourism infrastructure.
