For the Financial Year 2026-27, the Ministry of Railways is aiming to hire approximately 22,000 vacancies in Level 1. The online application process for Group D 2026 starts on 21st January 2026 and ends on 20th February 2026. RRB Group D 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the Railway Group D 2026 exam, candidates must have the following eligibility requirements:
Group D Age Limit (As on 1/1/2026)
As per the short notification, candidates must be between the age of 18 – 33 years as on 1st January 2026. However, age relaxations have been provided to reserved category candidates such as SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and EWS.
Qualification Required
- Candidates must have passed 10th standard from a recognised educational Board. It can be the Central or State Educational Board.
- A candidate must have passed ITI from a recognised Institution or hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT. OR,
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering
Nationality
Applicants must be Indian citizens, or nationals of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who settled in India before 1 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries to permanently settle in India. Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

RRB Group D Exam Medium: The exam will be conducted in 13 regional languages other than English and Hindi. The languages are Konkani, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
RRB Group D 2026 Salary
Candidates selected through the RRB Group D Recruitment will receive a basic pay of Rs 18,000 per month. In addition to the basic salary, they are entitled to several benefits, such as:
- Dearness Allowance (DA),
- Daily Allowance, Transport Allowance,
- House Rent Allowance (HRA),
- Night Duty Allowance,
- Medical facilities, and
- Overtime allowance.
After including these allowances, the monthly in-hand salary for RRB Group D posts generally ranges between Rs 22,500 and Rs 25,380.
