UAE advises private sector companies to shift to work-from-home amid escalating tensions

The UAE has advised private sector companies to implement remote work for three days as Iranian missiles are intercepted over the country, prompting safety precautions.
Private companies across the United Arab Emirates have been advised to shift staff to remote work for three days as Iranian missiles continued to be intercepted over the country for a second consecutive day on Sunday.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) urged businesses to keep employees away from open areas and enable off-site work where possible, excluding those in essential roles that require physical presence.
Remote working advised amid ongoing missile interceptions
According to the ministry, the guidance applies from Sunday, 1 March, to Tuesday, 3 March, as part of safety measures linked to the evolving security situation. Officials noted that decisions on suspending operations or modifying work arrangements ultimately rest with the relevant local authorities, depending on developments on the ground.
MOHRE also called on companies to monitor official updates from federal and emirate-level bodies to ensure compliance and protect workers.
Iranian strikes target multiple Gulf states
The UAE is among several Gulf countries struck by Iranian missiles as Iran launched retaliatory attacks on United States assets across the region. Tehran confirmed on Saturday that its strikes targeted sites in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE – countries hosting American military facilities – according to the Fars news agency.
In the UAE, four people were injured when debris from intercepted drones fell onto residential towers and homes. Infrastructure damage was also reported, including at Dubai International Airport, the Burj Al Arab, and the Palm Jumeirah.
UAE says more than 300 aerial threats neutralised
The UAE Ministry of Defence announced on Saturday that its air force and air defence systems had intercepted a large majority of projectiles launched towards the country since the attacks began.
Officials reported detecting 137 ballistic missiles, destroying 132 of them while five fell into the sea. A further 209 drones were identified in UAE airspace, with 195 successfully intercepted and 14 falling within the country’s territory or coastal waters, causing limited damage.
