Eligibility Criteria

Graduate Apprentice: Bachelor of Mining Engineering, Degree in Mining Engineering

Technician Apprentice: Mining Engineering/ Mine and Mine Surveying Engineering, Diploma in Mining /Diploma in Mining and Mine Surveying engineering 

Trade Apprentices: 

• COPA: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 year National/ State Trade Certificate in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant Trade
• Fitter: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Fitter Trade
• Electrician: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade
• Welder (Gas and Electric) : Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Welder Trade
• Wireman: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Wireman Trade
• Surveyor: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Surveyor Trade
• Mechanic Diesel: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Mechanic Diesel Trade
• Draughtsman (Civil): Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Draftsman (Civil) Trade
• Machinist: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Machinist Trade
• Turner: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 year National/ State Trade Certificate in Turner Trade
• Pump Operator Cum Mechanic: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 Year National/ tate Trade Certificate in Pump Operator Cum Mechanic Trade
• Steno (Hindi): Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in Steno (Hindi) Trade
• Security Guard (Optional Trade): Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system, passed from a recognized Board of education

Stipend

• Graduate Apprentice:Rs 12,300 per month
• Technician Apprentice:Rs 10,900 per month
• COPA (Computer Operator & Programming Assistant):Rs 10,560 per month
• Fitter:Rs 11,040 per month
• Electrician:Rs 11,040 per month
• Welder (Gas & Electric):Rs 10,560 per month
• Wireman:Rs 11,040 per month
• Surveyo:Rs 11,040 per month
• Mechanic Diesel: Rs 10,560 per month
• Draughtsman (Civil): Rs 11,040 per month
• Machinist:Rs 11,040 per month
• Turner: Rs 11,040 per month
• Pump Operator cum Mechanic:Rs 10,560 per month
• Steno (Hindi): Rs 10,560 per month
• Security Guard (Optional Trade): Rs 8,200 per month

 Age Limit

• Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
• Maximum Age limit: 26 Years
• As on the Cut-off date i.e. 01/08/2025 That is, the Candidate/Applicant should have born on or in between 02/08/1999 to 02/08/2007
• Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Selection Process

• A candidate may apply against any one of the notified positions pertaining to anyone of the establishments only. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification of the candidature.
• Candidate shall be wholly/exclusively responsible for the information provided in his/ her online application form and if at any stage of selection it is revealed or found that the candidate has just furnished incorrect information while applying online his/her candidature shall be rejected with immediate effect.
• Information pertaining to date of Birth, Caste Category, Qualification etc. once entered in the Online Application shall be considered as Final and no alteration will be permitted at later and subsequent stages, that is why the candidates must check and be assure about the correctness of the information filled/applied under Online application before finally submitting it online. 

How to Apply

• Candidate meeting the above prescribed eligibility criteria should visit WCL website https://westerncoal.in and apply online following the schedule as provided under Table 6.
• Paper based application will not be accepted.
• Candidate has to visit WCL website and then follow the path, Home> Career> Apprentice, for applying online.
• Firstly, a candidate has to register themselves on the Online portal and to create an online account for which they are required to have a valid mobile number and a valid email. After registering successfully they may apply for the positions of which they are fulfilling the eligibility criterion.
• Candidate has to provide all relevant details including NATS/NAPS registration reference, Date of Birth, Name as available in Matriculation certificate, Address for correspondence, permanent address, Academic details, Scanned photograph, Scanned Signature etc.
• After successfully filling the online form they have to confirm a declaration and he/she must go through the details provided in preview before final submission.
• After final submission of online application candidate must save and preserve a Hard as well as soft copy of his/her online application for future purposes.
