Madhya Pradesh will hold 22 major recruitment exams in 2026 to fill over 14,000 posts in administrative, police, education, health, and other departments. MPPSC and the Employee Selection Board (ESB) will conduct these exams. Additionally, Teacher Eligibility Test (MP TET) will be held for 30,000 posts to address teacher shortages.

MPPSC exams schedule

MPPSC will organise 10 major exams in 2026. Key exams include the State Service Examination, Forest Service Examination, and Assistant Professor Recruitment.

  • Deputy Collector Recruitment: 155 posts
  • Additional Collector: 17 posts
  • DSP: 18 posts
  • Applications open 10 January to 9 February 2026
  • Preliminary exam for State Service and Forest Service: 26 April 2026
  • Main exam: 7–12 September 2026

Reasons for fewer PSC posts

  • Ban on promotions: Many officers hold higher posts temporarily. As lower posts are not considered vacant, fewer positions are available for recruitment.
  • Finance department formula: Vacant posts are now filled in phases over three years. This reduces the number of posts released at once.

Assistant Professor recruitment in phases

The Higher Education Department will recruit Assistant Professors in three phases.

  • January: Computer Science exam on 4 January 2026
  • February: Deputy Director/Principal/Assistant Director (Technical) on 22 February 2026
  • March: State Engineering Service Exam on 22 March 2026

Teacher Recruitment: MP TET

The Teacher Eligibility Test (MP TET) 2026 will fill approximately 30,000 posts in primary and secondary schools.Currently, over 42,000 teaching posts are vacant. This recruitment will strengthen the state’s education system.

Police Recruitment: 22,500 posts over 3 years

Phase 1 (2026):

  • 7,500 constables
  • Recruitment: October–December 2026

Subedar & Sub-Inspector Posts:
