Govt aims to provide 1.1 lakh jobs through IT firms: Vizag collector | Vijayawada News


Visakhapatnam: District collector Harendira Prasad on Monday stated that many IT giants are setting their foot on Vizag soil with huge investments and aimed to provide 1.1 lakh job opportunities. He said the govt allotted land to 16 IT firms, including Google, TCS, Cognizant, and others, through APIIC, and these companies would invest Rs 10,600 crore. He added that 27 km master plan roads, with Rs 175 crore estimates for Bhogapuram International Airport, are under construction. The GVMC also proposed Rs 70 crore estimated 15.7 km length roads to interlink airport connectivity roads.He unfurled the tricolour flag at the parade ground here on Monday and stated that around 68,000 students of 580 govt and aided schools are benefitting through Mid Day meals. A total of 8 road works were completed, and another 160 works are under progress out of a 27 km stretch of 168 CC roads under MGNREGS. Other roads, including 144 CC and BT roads under Palle Panduga 2.0, started, and 13.7 km length of 3 roads under the Nabard scheme are going on.He said 14,423 pattadar pass books were distributed following the completion of resurvey in 36 villages. The resurvey was completed in 53 villages out of 85 villages in 4 rural mandals in the district. He distributed meritorious awards to the employees in different departments.
