Gurugram authorities advise work from home on 25 August due to rain
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of Gurugram has advised corporate offices, government and private schools, and other institutions to permit their employees and staff to work from home on August 25. This advisory was issued on August 24 in response to heavy rainfall in the district and the potential for waterlogging and traffic congestion.
The District Magistrate-cum-Chairperson of the DDMA stated that the measure is intended to reduce traffic congestion and facilitate repair and maintenance work on roads and drains by civic agencies.

The administration highlighted that heavy rainfall on August 24 increased the risk of waterlogging at various locations, which could impede traffic movement. The work-from-home advisory aims to mitigate these issues and support smoother operations for civic authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram requested residents to cooperate with the advisory and to plan their travel accordingly.
The advisory has been circulated to the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) for wide publicity, and forwarded to the District Education Officer/District Elementary Education Officer (DEO/DEEO) for dissemination to both private and government educational institutions.
This announcement follows significant rainfall in Gurugram on August 24, which resulted in waterlogging in several areas across the district.
