A man quit his first job just three hours after joining, saying the long hours and low pay didn’t make sense for him.

A young man’s first-day experience at his new job has started a discussion about workplace expectations after he decided to quit just three hours into his shift. He shared that the role did not match what he had signed up for and the pay felt too low for the amount of time the job demanded.
He explained that he had been looking for a part-time role because he is preparing for a competitive exam. But once he joined, he learned that the company expected him to work full-time instead. He later described his experience in detail in a Reddit post.
Man Says Job Offer Felt Unfair
The post was titled, “Got my first job, Quit 3 hours later.” He wrote, “Got my first job today. It was work from home good job with minimum work pressure. But it was a 9-hour shift and the salary was a measly Rs 12,000. I thought I could handle the job, but 3 hours later I realised it would take up all my time and I wouldn’t be able to grow inmy career. So I quit.”
He also added in the comment section that the company had advertised the role as part-time. “I’m preparing for a competitive exam here. I was searching for part-time jobs. They advertised about a part-time job and handed me a full-time job. Can’t roll with that dawg.”
