Pune: TCS Orders Work from Home for Nashik Employees after Harassment Allegations Surface

Pune/Nashik, 17th April 2026: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of India’s leading information technology companies, has decided to allow employees at its Nashik centre to work from home following allegations of sexual harassment of female employees at the facility.
Complaints of sexual harassment by women staff members recently surfaced, and some company employees have been arrested in connection with the case. The incidents are said to have taken place at the company’s Nashik centre.
The centre has been caught in controversy over the past few days, with allegations not only of sexual harassment but also attempts to force religious conversion of some employees. The issue has triggered political allegations and counter-allegations.
Against this backdrop, concerns were raised over the safety and security of employees working at the Nashik facility. Considering these concerns, TCS has now decided to implement work-from-home for all employees at the centre. Staff members have been informed about the decision.
Meanwhile, the Forum for IT Employees (FITE) has objected to the move. The organisation said TCS had taken the decision suddenly and claimed the company was presenting it as a measure taken for employees’ convenience and safety.
However, the forum questioned the timing of the move, saying it came at a time when discussions around alleged misconduct at the company were intensifying.
“It raises several questions. Was the decision really taken for employee safety, or to silence employees? Was it meant to prevent staff from sharing information with the media?” the forum said.
