SP Crime declares Pooja Naik’s allegations fabricated, no evidence links officials & minister to job Scam

Digital Goa, Dec – Goa Crime Branch has found no material evidence to support Pooja Naik’s sensational claims that senior government officials and a minister were involved in a ₹17.68 crore cash-for-jobs racket, SP Crime Rahul Gupta announced in a press briefing today. “This enquiry is officially concluded,” said Gupta. If the need be, Narco test will be done, he added.Pooja is named in five criminal cases including cheating and abetment to suicide across Bicholim, Mardol, Porvorim, and Panaji Police Stations. The case at Mardol police station registered under Section 318(4) of the BNS has been transferred to the Crime Branch for further in-depth investigation, he said.
Gupta claimed that the extensive enquiry, which scrutinised financial records, call data, physical locations, and digital trails, concluded that Naik’s allegations were likely fabricated to divert attention from her existing criminal cases. According to SP, Naik’s claims — including maintaining a diary of 613 job aspirants, handing over cash in a Porvorim flat, working at MGP Office and possessing video evidence — were found to be unsubstantiated. Gupta claimed that of the 2 phones Pooja possessed, one was attached and other was given back to her as it was linked to her daughters’ online education. And the same was later formatted and sold by the Naik’s to a person from Uttar Pradesh.
Pooja’s call records also showed no communication between Naik and the officials she accused, asserted Gupta. The phone attached by police had WhatsApp chats of aspiring job seekers, he said. However, when queried about the number of candidates she was in touch with through the phone, he said he did not have the figures.
Financial scrutiny revealed transactions of over ₹8.06 crore across bank accounts belonging to Naik, her husband, and their daughters, he said further adding that the money was used by them to purchase luxury vehicles, jewellery and construct properties.
She was staying in a 5-star hotel at Kadamba Plateau for past 3 months to avoid job aspirants who were asking for return of money, informed Gupta.
When queried about photos of Pooja with various politicians which had surfaced on social media, Gupta said she had not mentioned them in her statement.
