Woman Quits Rs 10.5 LPA Job After 5-Day WFO Rule, Internet Calls It The ‘Right Decision’ | Viral News

Why She Left Her Office Job

The details were shared in a post on X, where a user explained that Shikha resigned from a job that paid Rs 10.5 lakh per annum and accepted a work-from-home role offering Rs 8.5 lakh per annum.

According to the post, the main reason behind the decision was the daily commute. It claimed that travelling around 30 kilometres through Bengaluru traffic every day was taking a toll on both her finances and well-being.

The post stated that she was spending between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 every month on cab fares alone. On top of that, there were additional expenses on food and other costs linked to working from the office.

The user wrote, “Bengaluru woman leaves Rs 10.5 LPA office job for Rs 8.5 LPA WFH role!”

What She Gained After Switching

The post further claimed that Shikha carefully calculated her actual savings before making the decision. Even though the new role came with a lower salary, she reportedly found that the overall benefits outweighed the pay cut.

According to the post, she joined a remote role as an Implementation Advisor and now has more control over her time.

The user wrote that she is saving more money, enjoying a better work-life balance and spending less time dealing with traffic.

The post also claimed she now has more time for content creation, learning new skills and visiting family.

Summing up the situation, the user wrote, “proving sometimes less salary = more freedom. What would you choose – higher pay or peace?”

Social Media Users Back Her Decision

The post attracted plenty of reactions, with many people saying they would prioritise peace of mind over a bigger salary.

A user said, “Sometimes peace of mind is more valuable than a higher salary. If money, time and energy are exhausted during the journey itself, then the benefits of the package are reduced. For me, better work-life balance and peace of mind matter more.”

Another commented, “Sometimes a lower salary with better work life balance is worth more than a higher paycheck.”

“Absolutely the right choice. Sometimes a lower salary brings a much higher quality of life,” a person commented.

“That was the right decision Shikha Bengaluru’s traffic and cab expenses are truly soul crushing,” a comment read.

Someone wrote, “A bigger salary looks good on paper, but if traffic, stress, and daily expenses eat up your time, energy, and happiness, the real gain may be much smaller than it seems.”

A user wrote, “Honestly, salary is important, but it’s not the only measure of success. If a slightly lower package gives better mental peace, more personal time, and a healthier work-life balance, it can be a smarter long-term decision. Sometimes freedom and quality of life are worth more than a bigger paycheck.”
