The UP government is set to ring in the new year with a major boost to employment, with announcing plans to roll out 1.5 lakh government jobs in 2026.

CM Yogi recently asked for department-wise details of vacant posts during a review meeting with senior officials, paving the way for bumper recruitment across the state.

Appointments will be made across key departments, including police, education, revenue and housing development, with the highest number of vacancies expected in the police and education sectors.

First government in UP to set a record

With this drive, the government is also poised to set a record, becoming the first in UP to provide 10 lakh government jobs over ten years.

Yogi government has provided 8.5 lakh jobs

  • According to information, in the last 8.5 years, more than 8.5 lakh government jobs have been given to UP youth in different departments.
  • All these recruitments have been done transparently and impartially.
  • This has strengthened the trust of the state’s youth in the Yogi government.
  • In previous governments, there was no transparent environment in government recruitments in UP.

Details of vacant posts across departments awaited

  • The government plans to issue recruitment advertisements in the new year for around 50,000 posts each in the police and education departments.
  • This includes about 30,000 constables and 5,000 sub-inspector posts in the police, and vacancies ranging from assistant teacher to lecturer and principal in education.
  • Around 20,000 posts are also proposed in the Revenue Department, with maximum vacancies for lekhpal posts. Recruitments will also be carried out in prisons, housing development, child development and nutrition, and the health department.

Recruitment ads soon, record 10 lakh jobs target

  • The process of issuing recruitment advertisements is in its final stage, with hiring already underway in some departments. Officials said advertisements will be released shortly.
  • With these recruitments, the Yogi government is set to become the first in the state to provide a record 10 lakh government jobs in a 10-year period.
