City shifts to work from home, online classes | Gurgaon News

Gurgaon: In the wake of torrential downpours that lashed the district on Monday, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has directed all corporate offices, govt departments and private educational institutions across the city to switch to work from home and remote learning modes on Tuesday. The decision comes after heavy rain threatened to disrupt commute routes and paralyse the city’s major arterial roads. According to officials, clearing the roads of non-essential traffic will enable civic agencies to carry out uninterrupted drainage clearing, de-watering operations and urgent road restoration work.To ensure widespread compliance and public awareness, instructions have been issued to the district information and public relations officer (DIPRO) for mass media dissemination. The district education officer (DEO/DEEO) has also been asked to circulate the order to all govt and private school administrations to ensure that students and staff remain indoors as repair efforts are carried out.
