IndusInd Bank expands work-from-home framework, Yes Bank eyes wider hybrid model for non-customer facing roles

IndusInd Bank is expanding its roster-based work-from-home (WFH) framework across multiple departments after its successful adoption across select teams.

In a statement, the private sector lender said the move is part of its focus on “sustainable and responsible growth” through measures centred on “resource optimisation and operational effectiveness”.

The bank said the expansion is aligned with the Government of India’s broader emphasis on work-from-home and virtual collaboration to conserve resources and promote efficiency. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an appeal urging citizens and businesses to voluntarily adopt WFH as a fuel-saving measure.
“The framework has been designed with a customer-first approach, ensuring customer service and branch operations continue as usual, while maintaining productivity and operational efficiency across the organisation,” the statement said.
According to the bank, the framework is enabled by “digital-first practices, and agile execution” and is helping drive “better utilisation of time, enhanced productivity, and more efficient ways of working”.

The bank added that the initiative remains aligned with its broader focus on building “a more agile and high-performance workplace”.

Yes Bank also said some of its teams are already working in a hybrid mode and that it is looking to extend the model further.

“At YES BANK, some of our teams are already working in a hybrid mode. We are also actively moving towards extending the hybrid mode to other non-customer facing roles,” said Archana Shiroor, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), YES BANK.
