Rajasthan Public Service Commission has released a detailed analysis report of the RAS-2023 result

The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) 2023 results show that over half of the successful candidates come from rural areas. According to a detailed analysis by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC):

Out of 2,166 selected candidates, 1,210 (55.86%) are from rural regions.

Only 956 candidates (44.14%) hail from urban areas.

The RPSC considered candidates’ schooling location as the basis for rural-urban classification.

Significant number already employed

The analysis also revealed that a majority of the selected candidates were already working:

  • 1,306 candidates (59.9%) were already employed in government or private jobs.
  • The remaining 872 candidates were freshers.

This indicates that prior professional experience is common among successful RAS aspirants.

Interview trends: Jaipur and Rajasthan University lead

  • A total of 2,178 candidates were called for interviews, out of which 12 were rejected.
  • 1,106 candidates (over 50%) came from just six districts: Ajmer, Alwar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Nagaur, and Sikar.
  • Jaipur district contributed the most with 364 candidates (16.71%).
  • Among universities, Rajasthan University (RU), Jaipur had the highest number of candidates selected, with 537 selections.

Following RU, RTU Kota and MDS University Ajmer had the next highest representation.

Academic excellence: First division and postgraduates dominate

The educational qualifications of the selected candidates reflect high academic achievement:

  • 1,707 candidates (79%) held a first division in graduation.
  • 837 candidates (38.64%) are postgraduates.

This suggests that academic performance continues to play a significant role in selection.

Age profile of selected candidates

Analysis of the age distribution shows a mix of young and slightly older aspirants:

  • 1,554 candidates (71.3%) are between 21 and 30 years old.
  • 266 candidates (12.21%) are aged 31 to 33 years.

This indicates a preference for energetic youth while still accommodating slightly older candidates.
